Cilmeri Commemoration 2006 Afterthoughts:

St Stephen's Day aka Boxing Day.

St Stephen's Day 1969 and I had began my self imposed exile in Ireland some month or more earlier, the photo below shows me in area of the O'Connell Bridge bridge leading into O'Connell Street and in the middle distance you can see the Daniel O' Connell Memorial.
I had taken up work as a grill chef in a restaurant called the Green Rooster close to the memorial. The restaurant was so close that some time during the early hours of St Stephen's Day 1969 or was it 1970? (my memory fades) some protestant group put a bomb on the memorial and blew one of the four angels of her pedestal, the Green Rooster took an hit as well with all the frontage blown in by the blast. Lucky no one was working, particularly waitresses as they would have been in way of blast impact, myself would have been pretty safe in the kitchen at back of the restaurant. Our 'Adfywiad Gwladgarol' had come to an end in Wales and I had arrived in Ireland just as an Irish one was kicking off. More on this in my Alternative Nationalist Movement & Struggle - History Archive Web Site soon, keep eye on the web but note it will take me years to complete, as it's such a mamoth exercise which must be done or otherwise our Quisling Establishment will bury this history and ''Stalinise'' much out of our history of struggle and I do mean our history of real radical struggle not a frolic as fashion may suit some, not least those who keep changing the colour of their shirts perhaps?
Some will remember, some will forget and many will not know of the massive mobalisation of the police on 31 - 3 - 80 'Sul y Blodau', their purpose as in 1969 to employ 'terror tactics' against the nationalist community. Of the many arrested the majority were members and supporters of Cofiwn for reasons of Cofiwn's commitment to it's struggle of Cymric Consciousness Campaigning often by means of RADICAL ACTION. Cofiwn for most part was a commemorative movement with purpose of raising national consciousness by work as setting up memorials and in the holding of patriotic rallies to mark important historic anniversaries, in all these areas Cofiwn patriotically pioneered much. However, when needs be Cofiwn also took to direct action to combat cerebral colonialism as in 1983 when it organised a direct action campaign against 'Gwyl y Cestyll' that led to the momentouse occaision when led by Cofiwn, patriotic activists closed down Caernarfon Castle, news of which made world news headlines. Distant Days Remembered.
MAE ADFYWIAD GWLADGAROL YN PARHAU! Over the past year by various means I have promoted the idea of advancing a renewed radical Cymric Consciousness Campaign, by these means and reference to such a campaign in this blog, support has been growing for advancing such and this I will consider. However, not as a movement but as an 'Autonomous Action' that may be carried out by patriots and yes possibly such will be the foundatiion for a future 'Adfywiad Gwladgarol'. Look out for further 'Adfywiad' announcements. In the mean time what will the future hold for continuing patriotic political struggle of national liberation from the ASSEMBLY OF APPEASEMENT WITH ENGLISH IMPERIALISM AND THE NEO - COLONIAL COLLABORATIONIST QUISLING ESTABLISHMENT OF RUNNING DOGS THAT RUIN OUR HOMELAND IN PERSUENCE OF THEIR OWN SELFISH SELF INTERESTS. We are a long way away from any ''Mudiad Adfywiad Gwladgarol'' as a New National Patriotic Front coming into existance, so what of 'Balchder Cymru', already having at start of 2006 ditched all ambitions of being ''MUDIAD RHYDDHAD CYMRU'', 
I wonder if we shall see B.C. in 2007 further ''back peddle'' on their verity of stated objectives and aims (which is not exactly clear)? I am concerned that we are at present witnessing the transformation of B.C. leader Adam Phillips from being a radical nationalist and another self styled ''Welsh Republican'' (romantic) into a full blown 'TARTAN TAFF'.
I am sure that 2007 will tell us if 'Balchder Cymru' is really the ''Dogs B******S'' or just a ''Load of B******S'', preferrably it will be the former rather than the latter but time will tell as ''proof is always in the pudding''. At least Adam and many of the ''Balchder Boys'' are potential 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol' and not simply ''Peripheral Posuers'' or ''Pint Pot Patriots''. For sure ''Balchder Boys'' have the makings to be eagles
Ready to be led by Shepherds of the Sham Senedd.
ADFYWIAD GOCH The demise of Cymru Goch II and the falling out of the ''Welsh Socialist Alliance'' seems to have brought to and end the ''WELSH RED RESURGENCE'', I am not sure if the ''Soft Socialist'' Rainbow Coalition of Seren News Paper exists any more? however, if not then there's always SOCIAL FORUM CYMRU but after much ''foundation publicity'' they seem to be pretty inactive. Of course there is ''The Left'' of ''PLAID POPPY'' in the main their Student/Youth 'TRIBAN GOCH' but lets pass them by, they will soon enough become 'Bourgeouise Nationalists' or more likly 'Crachach Newydd'. As for the ''remnants'' of WELSH SOCIALIST REPUBLICANS, they all seem to have become RED POETS or have joined COR COCHION to sing us toward Revolutionary struggle outside Cardiff Market and even at Cilmeri, now how Socialist can that get?
Illustration shown here is my adaption of the Irish Socialist 'Starry Plough' as may be used by Welsh Socialists, I have not made one yet! Thus Politically the 'Alternative Nationalist Movement' seems to be in the doldrums but I have recieved some exciting information being put out by David Lawrence (see his contributions to various Welsh Republican Forums) which are about the best I have read coming out of ''Welsh Republican'' circles for some years and wish him well with this new radical Republican Initiative but warn him to stay clear of the ''retro'' and ''romantic'' so called ''Welsh Republicans'' of Cymru Rydd and Balchder Cymru, not least avoiding the ''Good Ole Boy Republicans'' and instead focus his efforts with the ''remnants'' of Cymru Goch II and the Welsh Socialist Republican Movement who I believe will have a greater understanding of what Republicanism should be all about. So a WELSH REPUBLICAN RESURGENCE looks possible? I repeat it may be of good advantage to any such Popular and Progressive Radical Resurgence be it Welsh Socialist or Republican for the supporters of such to visit Garreg wasted and grave of Henry Davies in February and later in year visit Hirwaun common and Merthyr Tudful (see other postings). 
If such fails then maybe a RELIGIOUS RESURGENCE will be waiting in the wings as possibly being cultivated by the 'Knights of St David' and nourished by their 'Tartarn Taff' Dupes and other such ''Devolution Dilettants''.
Then all the ''Romantic Republicans'' can do a ''Garibaldi'' and don the Red Shirt and prepare to march on the Sham Senedd to oust the politicians and declare the restoration of the ancient Cymric Monarchy with perhaps a ''Celbrity Cymru Aristocracy'' . How does that grab you? myself if all else fails politically , I would go for:

GLOBAL WARMING. The one thing that stands out about Cilmeri in recent years is how excellent and warm the weather has been, the ''Balchder Boys'' actually camp out for the weekend. Many of us can remember some very wet and cold, snow bound Cilmeri Commemorations, my worse memory is of the night I slept in a car with the two serial ''Alchahol Abusers'' Hinton and Lockwood. I had asked them for a lift home and they said OK! but did not tell me they planned to get ''plastered'' and sleep in the car in the Tafarn Llywelyn car park, I of course remained pretty sober and thus not prepared for what was to come. Stop Tap and we headed for the car Hinton got in the drivers seat and Lockwood in the back with me sitting in the front opposite Hinton, then to my horror both of they started to settle down for the night and I began to realise the car was going no where, I enquired when we were heading off and then they told me ''in the morning''. They promptly setlled down and did not wake until well past dawn, they did not even wake when the police knocked on the window to enquire what was going on, by which time I was shivering like a jelly on a railway track and my teeth chattering non - stop. Somehow I got the police to understand I was stuck in the car with two ''druken nutters'' who were well past worrying about how cold it was, eventually Hinton and Lockwood awoke and drove me home to Pencoed and my teeth did not stop chattering all the way and indeed the shivering did not stop for while either. This is possibly why you very, very rarely see me drinking with these two latter day ''campfollowers'' of ''Tartan Taffery'', the very though of being stuck in a car with them, in a car park in the middle of winter is enough to make a cold chill run down my spine. 
Whilst the though of these two in Kilts would make me vomit!

FOOT NOTE IN ALTERNATIVE NATIONALIST HISTORY, in response to news reports today regards the CAMBRIA BAND.
Picture shows Mold Postman, Adam Phillips leader of Balchder Cymru and Cambria Band ''Spokesman'' at Cilmeri 2006. Adam is usually seen in various coloured shirts atop the Cilmeri mound posturing his brand of ''Balchder Patriotism'' but this year Adam is seen ''set aside'' maybe? away from the action so to speak? Maybe to present an image more ''acceptable'' to the 'Knights of St David' who are amongst those who have selected Adam to lead the Cambria Band/Tartan Centre (sponsored) to fore in the annual Cambria Magazine/Tartan Centre (sponsored) St David's Day Parade in Caerdydd on 1 March 2007. HHHhhhmmm!!!So is it true, has Adam become a 'KofSD' or is he just a 'Tartan Taff 'Dupe or just another ''Dillettante'' ? So WITHER OR WHITHER 'BALCHDER CYMRU' NOW? but fellow patriots fear not for:
MAE'R ADFYWIAD GWLADGAROL YN DOD, one day the true radical nationalist Patriotic Resurgence shall return to the 'Sacred Acre' of the Cenotaph at Cilmeri and thence the ETHOS OF CILMERI SHALL BE RESTORED.
What of future of annual Cilmeri Commemorations? I am of the oppinion that given the truth of Llywelyn ap Gruffydd being killed at Aberedw it is there that Cofia 1282 Commemoration be held whilst at the Cilmeri Cenotaph Radical Nationalists hence fourth annually commemorate 'Cofia Adfywiad Gwladgarol 1966' with a Radical Rali Adfywiad Gwladgarol.

This item here is to remind you that I shall sometime next year start work on the promised ANM&S - HA Web site but it will take time and be on going and in continuous development.
