CILMERI COMMEMORATION 2009 - 40th Anniversary of the 1969 Rally welcoming FWA Commandants Cayo and Coslett home from imprisonment.
.

I do not know who the official organisers are of this year's Cilmeri Commemoration, but it looks to be a kind of shared event as seen from letters here taken out of Western Mail Letters page. The one from Stephen Griffiths of the North East which focus on Cilmeri Commemoration and the Abaty Cwm Hir service on the Sunday 13 December and, the other from Chris Schoen of the North West which focus on Cilmeri Commemoration and other commemorations on the Sunday 13 December in Caernarfon and at Llys Rhosyr on Ynys Mon.
.
The main Cilmeri Commemoration itself will start at 2:30 pm and will be taking place on the Saturday 12 December, for best and full information on all the aforementioned link to the below > Cilmeri 2009 Facebook - 18:15 - [ Translate this page ] Come to remember Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, last Prince of Wales, at Cilmeri near Builth Wells on December 12th and 13th 2009. My best wishes to all organisers for their efforts, I hope all turns out well. I myself shall not be attending the commemorations and services at above events for reasons clearly stated on my Welsh Remembrancer blog, suffice to say here I shall be holding a tribute for Adfywiadwr Compatriot and former PF Officer and FWA Commandant Glyn Rowlands at the Cilmeri Cenotaph at 12 noon of 12 Rhagfyr 2009 (again see WR blog for details). Glyn Rowlands we should note was also a much valued member of Cofiwn and good supporter of Embassy Glyndwr, he was not one who did nought but just remember the 'sixties'. Glyn continued to be activelly involved in many areas of patriotic work, political struggle and a much valued Cymric Consciosness Campaigner. It goes with out saying or over statement that dear Glyn will be a great loss to many patriotic causes he championed for over 50 years, much missed by fellow patriots and of course greatly by his family.

d at 12: 30 by my 'Good Bye' tribute in memory of my former 'Sixties' fellow Adfywiadwyr Gwladgarol, this will be in form of presentation and placement of a patriotic Installation (plaque) in memory of the PF/FWA Anti - Investiture Activists, the 'Swansea Nine' at the Cilmeri Cenotaph. A Patriotic Roll Call of other 'Sixties' patriots will be read out and patriots will be invited to place Ivy Posies, wreaths or small crosses before the aforementioned 'installation' in memory of those patriots they knew.

.
THE BOYS ARE COMING HOME 1969, at the 1969 Rali Cilmeri most of the 'Swansea nine' were in attendance and this Rali welcomed them home from their trial and the release from imprisonment, FWA Commandants Cayo and Coslett. I being released earlier than they had decided to go into an Irish Exile, which was to last for two years and was not at the 1969 Rali Cilmeri.
.
As I am in the foto below, this must have been taken in Tafarn Llywelyn post 1969/72? The below are seven of the 'Swansea Nine' they are left to right Dai Bonar Thomas, Toni Lewis, Dafydd Burns, Cayo Evans, Denis Coslett, Vivian Davies and myself Gethin 'Iestyn' Gruffydd. Two are missing from the foto, they being Glyn Rowlands and Vernon Griffiths. Of the nine, sadly six have since died (those are noted in red).

.
Perhaps as the Cofia 1282 Commemoration will not start until 2:30 pm, I suggest that maybe patriots would feel it appropriate between 1 - 2:00pm to carry out similar tribute in memory of post 'sixties' patriots who have passed away over the years between 1969 and our present times. Many of they would have been regular attendees at Rali Cilmeri and, thus I feel it is appropriate they are remembered. If someone does not step forward to be a Roll Call Registrar and organise this, then it will have to be an ad hoc affair. Myself will see to it that tributes are left in memory of Eurig ap Gwilym Dolgellau, Ray Davies Abertawe and others, I know you will know of many other good patriots who have passed away and deserve to be so annually remembered.
.
I am tempted to set up a blog as a Patriotic Roll Call Register to record the life and times of such patriots, I shall certainly consider but only be prepared to do so if others contribute typed up brief 'in memoriam' paragraphs. Though I would prefer it if another good patriot could take on such duty as Roll Call Registrar and set up such blog especially as I shall no longer be attending Rali Cilmeri or be very much involved with the National Movement, alternative or otherwise. Anyone interested in such can see me at Cilmeri Cenotaph this year to discuss this pretty sound patriotic project.

Following on my contributions above, I have important unfinished business* at Rhosferig and Aberedw, further information on this will be posted on my Cofwn blog. So promptly at 1:00 pm I must depart, as I do not want to have to make another trip to these parts and so what has got to be done must be done. * The unfinnished business is taking further film footage of sites connected to the last days of LLywelyn ap Gruffydd in central Wales, this with our Ciilmeri Rally film footage over the years we are editing up as a DVD. This we hope to make available to patriots and the general public in 2011 as the Cilmeri Rally story which will include footage of the great 1982 Cilmeri commemoration.

Gethin Gruffydd.
