CILMERI 1282 COMMEMORATION 2011

Returning to the work of the Cymric Consciousness society 'Cofiwn' founded in the early 70's and demising in the mid 80's. This blog will inform on the beginnings of 'Cofiwn' and explain the inspiration for it being established and the aspirations that motivated it's advance and achievements. This 'Ysbryd Cilmeri' blog will in main be an introduction and at same time tell the story of the annual patriots gathering at Cilmeri 1966 - 2006 towards a future Adfywiad Gwladgarol Newydd.

The Cilmeri Rally was founded in 1966 by Anthony Lewis President of the Patriotic Front who had organised a bus for Front members and supporters from the Patriots Rest Club in Cwmbran', they were joined at Cilmeri by other "Militant Nationalists" and "Radical Republicans" (All I prefer to describe collectivelly as Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol). It was at this Rali Gwladgarol that in time that those who came to regularly attend were perceived to be of 'Y Cilmeriaid'. The second Cilmeri Commemoration in 1967 was organised by Cymdeithas Llywelyn, an affiliate body of the Patriotic Front, it was at this commemoration that the 'Ethos of Cilmeri' was born. At the 1967 rally and following in 1968 Cilmeri Commemoration that patriots aforementioned, whom I refer to as 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol' came to be concerned and committed to radical campaigning struggle against the Investiture of an English Prince of Wales. A struggle which during 1967, 1968 and 1969 was to increasingly dominate the politics of Cymru. The Patriotic Front organised and launched a major Anti - Investiture Campaign and a number of Anti - Investiture Rallies were held starting at Caernarfon which turned out as a very successful event but little referred to by the media today (guess why?). The July 68 Glyndwr Anti - Investiture Campaign Conference, rally and march down high street of Machynlleth however was to grab everyones attention and was to seize the immagination of young people throughout the land and win them over to the cause. It is the film footage of this event which is regularly used to depict the militant mood of the times, there was also about this time a major Anti - Investiture Rally at Cilmeri followed by disturbences outside Builth Police Station following on the arrest of Afywiadwr Cayo Evans, if I remember correctly flaming torches used at the rally were thrown at the police station but Builth police station was most certainly not burmt down. My memory on this affair seems rather faded, can any one help out with any memories of this event? NB: TELL ME BY WORD OF MOUTH ONE DAY OK!

The rest is well documented history in the book 'To Dream of Freedom', I shall however, be issuing additional ANM&S Archive information in due course. Most patriots will not be fully aware how far the Neo - Colonial Collaborationist "Welsh Establishment" are working towards STALINISATION OF THIS ALTERNATIVE NATIONALIST HISTORY and where of course they find it difficult to censor, they use their "Crachach Controlled Media" to denigrate the Adfywiad Gwladgarol 1963 - 69 and attempt to make it make it appear as if our struggle was of minimum impact. This attempt to "marginalise" the A.N.M. Struggle has recently been seen in obituaries regards the aforementioned 'Adfywiadwr' Anthony Lewis.

The term 'Y Cilmeriaid' alludes to seeing one self and other patriots, particularly 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol' as the Irish would see their 19th century 'Fenians' (though course not as violently revolutionary) the term 'Y Cilmeriaid' was inspired and coined after a speech by Julian Cayo Evans at Cilmeri, in which he paraphrased Padrig Pearses speech at the grave of Donavan O' Rossa * . Cayo proclaimed that "Cymru would never be at peace, whilst buried in this ground were our Cilmeriaid dead". Cayo was of course then referring to Tywysog Llywelyn and ''The 18'' slaughtered with him but as in recent years more and more contemporary patriots (Hen Cilmeriaid) as Dai Bonner Thomas and at some future date Toni Lewis, will have had their ashes spread around the "Sacred Acre" then of course Cayo's paraphrasing takes on an entirely different context and meaning.

* “Life springs from death, and from the graves of patriot men and women spring living nations. The defenders of this realm have worked well in secret and in the open. They think that they have pacified Ireland. They think that they have pacified half of us and intimidated the other half. They think that they have foreseen everything, think that they have provided against everything, but the fools, the fools, the fools! They have left us our Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree will never be at peace.” Graveside oration given by Padraig Pearse for Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa. August 1, 1915. We have archive film of Cayo reading this at an Abergele Martyrs Rally and most patriotically impressive it is, hope one day to share this with you. It is an objective to put such ANM&S archive footage on to DVD. However, usual story, time and money? Meanwhile suggest web search and make study of the Irish Fenian Movement.

Additional information related to 'Y Cilmeriaid' will follow in due course regards the Anti - Investiture Campaign 1966 - 69, I also have available an account of the Cilmeri Commemoration: The True Cilmeri Story this will be posted soon in reply to article by Gareth ap Sion rather misleading article in Cambria Magazine last year. This and other historical information regards HANES ANM&S is always being added to but I do rely on contributions by others, so please note if you have something important to add to this archive, even if only personal recollections then please do submit to the ANM&S Archive. This history must not be "STALINISED" or lost, it must be collected and recorded, then handed on to future generations of 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol' and of course to the people of Cymru. Otherwise posterity will only be left with a false, untruthful and Crachach biased account of our history. This history will promote an history of of continued ''WASPISM'' with an heavy nod to the virtues and benefits of ''Cultural Nationalist Struggle'' but avoid the reality of the end product of 'Y Crachach Newydd' - England's Client Tribe in Cymru. Just how such came into existence as ''Neo - Colonial Collaborators'' supporters of an Assembly of Appeasement with English Imperialism is an history lesson you will only read of in the ANHM&S ARCHIVE. Unfortunately for our homeland and people, we are being duped by the "Dilletttante Debris of Devolution" that now have set them selves up as a "Neo - Colonial Welsh Establishment" that will become as treacherous as all previous such establishments that are of "Plant Ednyfed Fychan". However, future generations of Cymry must become aware of the truth as only by such means can we hope that in time there will be another 'Adfywiad Gwladgarol' but next time one that is not so easily fooled and distracted by the Destitution of Devolution Debacle.

Adfywiad Art: The Red Eagle Cross, All Cymric Patriots will know of the tale of the White Eagle that flew in the sky screaming warning to the Cymry of Invasion but how many know the tale of the Red Eagle? It is said that a White Eagle following on a victory of Y Cymry over the Saxons, flew down upon the battle field and fed a day and a night on the bloodied Saxon corpses until it's feather too were bloody red. True or not this Red Eagle as a badge or flag would detirmine an 'Adfywiadwr Gwlatgarol' of more RADICAL PERSUASION than the usual moderating militant of latter years who are following the path of ''TARTAN TAFFERY'' and ''DEVOLUTION DILLETANTISM''. Followers of the ''RED EAGLE'' question, is the White Eagle now a bird and flag of surrender?
