A Message to Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol Newydd

It has comes to pass that an older generation of 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol' fall prisoner to time, they age and leave this world to sleep with Caradog, Cunedda and Cadwlader, all our ancient Cymric heroes. They join with our Cymric Princes; Rhys ap Gruffydd and Gruffydd ap Cynan, Llywelyn ap Gruffydd and Owain Glyndwr...and yes our Warrior Princess Gwenllian of Cydweli too!

Let us not forget own generation of patriots 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol'...........
FWA Commandants and Volunteers Vivian Davies, Dai Bonner Thomas, Cayo Evans, Anthony Lewis (PF) and many others. Our 'Patriots Roll Call' grows longer in it's reading at conclusion of each of the annual great gatherings of 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol' around the Cilmeri Cenotaph……

Hen Gilmeriaid' must now look to a younger generation of 'Cilmeriaid Newydd' from whom may arise and step fourth future 'Adfywiadwyr Gwladgarol'. Only time will tell if this will be a great truth that they be the Resurgent Radical Nationalists of the future struggle and not more fake "Posturing Poseurs" and as 'Devolution Dilettantes’ that over these recent years have fraudently been the false prophets of our Patriotic Struggle…. and now lead patriots into the distraction of ''Tartan Taffery'' in persuence of a pathetic weak Welsh patriotism of Leeks and ''Investiture Daffodils'', Welsh Cakes and now also the phoniness of ''Welsh Cilts'' to provide for Cardiff Tourism.

Then truly it will be a reality, that our 'Patriotic Covenant with the Ethos of Cilmeri' will survive and be sustained by younger generation of ‘Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol’ who will arise and be destined as the new "Legion of the Rearguard" that is........................................ Llegn y Cymry.

In recent years there has been appearing around the Cilmeri Cenotaph a younger gathering of 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol' (Militant Nationalists and Radical Republicans, this latter bunch has always mystified me as to their reason for being there?) It is interesting that a number of "Welsh Patriots" including leading "Welsh Republicans" as Gareth ap Sion perceive and see these "Young Turks" as the future 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol'. In this connection see article in Cambria by G.ap Sion 'The Hollow of Thorns' (then see my critique of this article elsewhere). Certainly in recent years these "Gwladgarol Newydd" have made marked determination to assume a patriotic commitment and authoritive position in organisation of the annual Cilmeri commemoration, no more so than these passed two years. History however, will testify as to, if they will indeed be the enduring "Cilmeriaid Newydd" a title worn by those, not simply because they attend the Cilmeri Commemoration but because they have earned "their spurs" in long active patriotic struggle. This has meant not just declaring one self a patriot but having been active in protest and as often as not being arrested and imprisoned. Indeed the very term "Y Cilmeriaid" alludes to seeing one self as the Irish would see their 'Fenians' (although not so violent of course) , the term "Y Cilmeriaid" was inspired and coined after a speech by Julian Cayo Evans at Cilmeri, in which he paraphrased Padrig Pearses speech at the grave of Donavan O' Rossa. Cayo proclaimed that: Cymru would never be at peace, whilst buried in this ground are our Cilmeriaid dead".

Cayo was of course then referring to Tywysog Llywelyn and the 18, but as in recent years more and more contemporary patriots (Hen Cilmeriaid) as Dai Bonner Thomas and at some future date Toni Lewis, have had their ashes spread around the "Sacred Acre" then of course Cayo's paraphrasing takes on an entirely different context and meaning. However, patriotic platitudes aside I say this, after reading the meaningless and absolutly pointless "romantic rubbish" of aforementioned Cambria article by Gareth ap Sion. I consider It is time for all 'Cilmeriaid' to reaffirm/affirm them selves as true 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol', I say to all who perceive them selves to be or desire to be one of the true 'Cilmeriaid', I would suggest they must hence annually dedicate themselves to the 'Patriotic Covenant with the Ethos of Cilmeri' and commit to pursuance of the patriotic ideals and principles that are the philosophy of

'Y Cilmeriaid' and activelly of 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol'.

...............................Thus the question begs to be asked are you prepared to become one of the noble ‘Llegn y Cymry' that is 'Y Cilmeriaid'. To above ends you must accept the following philosophy, that is the "Ethos of Cilmeri" and sear to it into your heart as your Personal Covenant of Cilmeri that is............ 'Cyfamod Ysbryd Cilmeri.

The 'Ethos of Cilmeri' it is quite simple and basic, no more and no less that there be continuous perpetual patriotic opposition to any acceptance of English Monarchist claim to have Sovereignty over our Homeland and people. 'Ethos of Cilmeri' patriotically predicts and pursues into eternity if necessary a continuing campaigning Cymric Resistance to the imposition of an English Poseur Pretender to the title 'Tywysog Cymru'. A proud and noble title of our own ancient Cymric aristocracy, stolen following most treacherous brutal murder by foul assassination on 11 - 12 - 1282 at Aberedw, of Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, Tywysog Gwynedd and Tywysog Cymru 1267 - 1282. Later his brother Dafydd ap Gruffydd by hideous execution was murdered at Shrewsbury on 3 - 10 - 1283 . Not satisfied with these bloody acts of tyranny to finalise the English conquest of Cymru, they then set about the murder and imprisonment of all family members of the Royal House of Aberffraw - Gwynedd. Such was their evil desire to destroy the ancient Cymric High Kings of Gwynedd and of Cymru that the English Crown pursued Owain ap Tomos, our "Prince across the water"; Owain Llawgoch to France and there have him assassinated. Thus the 'Ethos of Cilmeri', is remembering the aforementioned heritage of brutal and bloody conquest, this provides the patriotic spirit and motivation that produces the philosophy in theory and practise of true 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol' struggle that makes one truely a brother and sister of us all in the ''Legion of the Rearguard'' Llegn y Cymry........

'Y Cilmeriaid'.

At this 40th Cilmeri Commemoration I hope that 'Hen Cilmeriaid' will remind them selves of this 'Ethos of Cilmeri' and make vow to them selves and fellow 'Adfywiadwyr Gwladgarol' that as true 'Cilmeriaid' they will ever be Vigilant and Vigorous in sustaining the aforementioned ideals upon which rests 'The Patriotic Covenant with the Ethos of Cilmeri'. Only by so declaring annually at the Cilmeri Cenotaph before Cymru and the World these patriotic principles will this, our cause to return to our homeland the Cymric Sovereignty stolen by the conquest of 1282 - 83 - 84 become real and not a futile fantasy of ''Good Ole Boys''. Only by making such 'Ethos of Cilmeri' central to this annual gathering of 'Adfywiadwyr Gwladgarol' will it be possible to see future generations become Patriots in struggle and not Peripheral Patriots with no serious particular purpose, other than posturing and posing annually around the Cilmeri Cenotaph. Even worse would be in the continuing self indulgence of the 'Tartan Taff' parading in support of ''Cambrian Commercialism'' on St David's Day in Caerdydd. Better you all that day marched on the SHAM SENEDD in a ''Militant Manner'' than meekly plod your way to the steps of the National Museum of Wales and then back to the BLACK PIG (not even Tafarn Cayo) for some heavy duty Pint Pot Peripheralism. That is not the road to freedom we began in 1966 at the Cilmeri Cenotaph, hopefully this Cilmeri Rally of it's 40th anniversary will see some serious thinking, serious speeches and some serious patriotic direction shown. To begin with I would suggest that hence fourth at the great traditional gathering of 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol' at the Cilmeri Cenotaph concludes with the annual Cilmeri Convenor crying out

"Who Will Avenge Llywelyn?"

........and let all those who wish to be 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol' and deeply desire to be one of the true 'Cilmeriad' Call back in most loud and strong unanimous voice...................

"We Will".

'Cilmeriaid Newydd' now is the hour for you to 'Seize the Time' to earn ones spurs, go fourth as 'Adfywiadwyr Gwlatgarol Newydd' and take up the challenge that is the 'Ethos of Cilmeri', confront the Crown of England and all their ''Carlist'' lackeys and lickspittals in Cymru with the message, loud and clear: English Pretenders Shall not Pass,

there will be no III Investiture of an English Pretender as 'Tywysog Cymru' ever again. To not wait on 'Hen Cilmeriaid' the best have died and or grow aged, whilst others have let life overwealm patriotic spirit and are disillusioned, defeated or worse have become ''Devolution Dillettantes'' or even worse than that, if there could be such. YES! SUPPORTERS OF TARTAN TAFFERY?

THE ALTERNATIVES ARE:

* PINT POT 'GOOD OLE BOY' DREAMING IN THE DEBRIS OF TO DREAM OF FREEDOM!

* PATRIOTIC PERIPHERALISM OF FEARING TO GET OUT INTO ACTION WITH PROTEST! Just looking for parades with public house beer swilling to follow.

* BE FOOLED BY THE 'DEVOLUTION DILLETTANTES' OF 'PLAID POPPY' ET AL!

* BE ONE THAT FOLLOWS THE PIED PIPERS OF 'TARTAN TAFFERY'

* WAIT FOR THE NEXT CILMERI RALLY TO MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD! THEN WHAT?

By popular demand more 'Adfywiad Eagles', this one was silk screened by myself about 1983. Unfortunatly in photographingI left out the 'Gwladgarol' at bottem of the poster. The theme in this piece of 'Adfywiad Art' is obvious an Eagle set against a Rising Sun betraying in 1983 my opptimism that another 'Adfywiad Gwladgarol' was on the horizon?

Trech Gwlad Nag Arglwydd. now that's more like it!

I blame Cayo for all this ''Ultra - Nationalist Romanticism'' as I have written in this posting, following our trial in 1969 I served much of my sentance in Cardiff Jail. For much of the time Cayo and I would work together in the prison workshop (see my article on this in Ein Gwlad Magazine, do you know they have a web site now? They are not exactly pushing it much but I dare say do a google search and you will find it) and there Cayo would keep me happy with his tales of Irish and Polish Nationalism and stories about how the Poles have a White Eagle as a national emblem. The Poles are of course known as the ''Irish of Europe'' this is not simply because they go far and wide seeking work but also because of their great courage and patriotic persistance in seeking freedom for their people and Independance for their homeland. I strongly suggest you do a search on Google for Polish Nationalism and the Polish White Eagle, I believe the Poles have a patriotic military marching song called 'FOLLOW THE EAGLE' perhaps one we should translate to 'Cymraeg' to sing and one for the Cambrian Band to learn to play to lead future 'Adfywiad Gwladgarwyr' marches to victory or at least when we have sufficient numbers to 'STORM THE SHAM SENEDD' some time after the annual St Davids parade in Cardiff or rather after we get up some courage at the BLACK PIG? God! do I love winding up the Brit Secret Service? Though I had better not do that too often or I may end up back in Jail or even dead?
